一、学校简介 About XUST

西安科技大学座落在历史文化名城西安，领略秦汉雄风，弘扬盛唐文明，雁塔校区与举世闻名的大雁塔毗邻，临潼校区与驰名中外的华清池、兵马俑为伴，周围高校众多，文化氛围厚重。学校在2004年教育部组织的全国高校本科教学工作水平评估中荣膺“优秀”等级，是陕西省“文明校园”、“平安校园”，西安市“园林化单位”。

Xi’an University of Science and Technology (XUST) liesin Xi’an, a world-famous city with numerous ancient and historical sites andremains. Its head campus stands blocks away from the world famous Big Wild GoosePagoda and its newly built Lintong campus is close to another popular touristresort Huaqing Hot Springs. XUST is surrounded by many other universities andthe area has a civilized atmosphere. XUST was rated as "Excellent" inits undergraduate teaching by the China Ministry of Education in 2004. XUST isan officially recognized as the Civilized Campus and Garden Unit of Xi’an City.

学校历史悠久，办学起源可以追溯到1895年成立的北洋大学工学院采矿冶金科，1938年迁并于西北工学院矿冶系，1957年并入西安交通大学，1958年从西安交通大学分出成立独立的西安矿业学院，隶属原煤炭工业部管理，是当时煤炭部仅有的2所5年制本科院校之一。1998年实行“中央与地方共建，以地方管理为主”，划归陕西省。1999年更名为西安科技学院，2003年更名为西安科技大学。学校是国家安全生产监督管理总局和陕西省人民政府共建高校、教育部卓越工程教师教育培养计划实施高校、国家建设高水平大学公派研究生项目实施高校、国家特色重点学科项目实施高校、国家中西部高校基础能力建设工程实施高校和陕西省高水平大学建设高校。

Xi'an University of Science and Technology (XUST) hasa long history. Its roots can be traced back to the metallurgical miningdepartment of Beiyang University (Or Beiyang Institute of Technology) which wasfounded in 1895. Later in July 1938, this departmentwas merged into the Department of Mining and Metallurgy of NorthwestInstitute of Technology， In 1957, it was incorporated into Xi'anJiao Tong University and was then separated from the Xi'an Jiao Tong University to set up as anindependent Xi'an Mining Institute in 1958 under the management of the Ministry of Coal Industry, It became one of the only two five-yearundergraduate institutes under the direct supervision of the Ministry of CoalIndustry then. In 1998, thestate council separated the institute fromMinistry of CoalIndustryand gave jurisdiction to the Shaanxi ProvincialGovernment. In 1999,the institute changed its name to Xi'an Institute ofScience and Technology and in 2003, it was officially renamed as Xi'anUniversity of Science and Technology (XUST). The school is the national state administration of work safetyand to build colleges and universities in Shaanxi provincepeople's government ,the Ministry of education to build a university engineeringexcellence teacher education training plan, the national construction highlevel university public school graduate project implementation project ofcolleges and universities, the key subjects of the national characteristics ofthe implementation of colleges and universities in Shaanxi Province high level universities andnational construction in Colleges and universities in the Midwestern universitybasic ability construction project. XUST has been entitled as the UniversityBuilt Jointly between the National Aminitration of Work Safety and ShaanxiProvice, and it has the Excellent Engineers Program by China Administry of Education. It also hasthe High Level Overseas Exchange Graduate Student funded by the China Ministryof Education and some of the programs are among the top tier of the nation. Itis supported by both the Shaanxi Province for its top tier level.  

学校现有雁塔和临潼两个校区，18个学院（部），1个研究生院。有1个国家重点学科，8个省级（优势）重点学科，涵盖45个二级学科；13个省（部）级重点实验室及工程研究中心。有6个博士后科研流动站，5个一级学科博士点，32个二级学科博士点，19个一级学科硕士点，85个二级学科硕士点，有18个工程硕士培养领域、1个工商管理硕士（MBA）专业学位授权点和1个会计硕士（MPACC）专业学位授权点，56个本科专业，形成了以地矿及其相关学科为特色，以工科为主体，工、理、文、管、法、经、艺协调发展的多学科办学格局，现有各类全日制在校学生2.3万余人，其中博、硕士研究生2900余人。展望未来，西安科技大学将秉承“团结、勤奋、求实、创新”的优良校风和“励志图存、自强不息”的“胡杨”精神，锐意改革、开拓创新，努力把学校建设成为特色鲜明的高水平教学研究型大学。

XUST has two academiccampuses - Lintong Campus and Yanta Campus. It has eighteen colleges or departments and onegraduate school.It hasone national key discipline, eight key disciplines of provincial andministerial level, all in total covering45 secondary discipline. There are thirteen key laboratories of provincial and ministerial level, onekey laboratory of Ministry of Education and Engineering Research Center. XUST has sixpost-doctorate researcher exchange centers, thirty-seven doctorate programs,eighty-five Master’s programs which include eighteen Master’s mandated programsin Engineering, an MBA Training Center and an MPACC Training Center and fifty-six undergraduate programs.XUST has now expanded into acomprehensive yetcontinually developing multidisciplinary educational and research university with main focuson mining andits related disciplines. It covers six main disciplines: Engineering, Science,Management, Literature, Law and Art. The present reaches more than 23,000 for all theprograms and amongthem there are more than 2900doctoral candidates and postgraduate students. Xi'an University of Science andTechnology will be adhering to its proud slogans, “Unity, Diligence,Truth-seeking, Innovation” and “Exertfor Prosperity and Strive for Self- improvement”, making a constant commitmentto development,  Reform and innovation ，the aim of construction its primary function, theimprovement of the quality of teaching and learning its aim.  

二、招生类别Admissions

2、申请条件 Application Requirements

（一）申请人必须是持有合法护照的外国公民；

1. Applicantsshould be non-Chinese citizens with a valid ordinary-type passport

（二）身体健康、品学兼优；

2. The generalhealth state and learning ability of the applicant should be good enough forhim/her to pursue the course of study at XUST

（三）遵守中国法律法规和学校规章制度，尊重中国人民的风俗习惯；

3. Applicantsshould respect Chinese habits and customs, are willing to abide by both ChineseLaw & regulations and School rule & regulations

（四）对申请人汉语水平要求依据所学专业和授课语言确定。

3、学习内容 About Programs

语言生：短期和长期汉语语言文化进修生为单独开班，我们为所有来校学生的外国学生提供专门的汉语培训及中国文化课程，课程包括中国传统工艺课程（剪纸、书法、扎染、中国结）、太极拳、武术等，还将组织学生利用周末和节假日参观西安地区的名胜古迹。学习期满获得我校颁发的语言学习结业证书，同时组织学生备考HSK考试，成绩合格的可进入本科阶段学习。

InternationalCultural Exchange Program

Short-termand long-term International Cultural Exchange Program(ICEP), is the specializedProgram providing Chinese language and culture education for internationalstudents in XUST and dedicated in promoting multicultural communication,students will have opportunity to learn about China’s rich history and cultureincluding Chinese traditional culture including paper-cut, calligraphy, dyeing,China knot, Tai Chi, martial arts etc, and to visit scenic spots of Xi’an areaduring holidays. After successful completion of the Program, students will beawarded a program certificate and prepared for HSK with XUST’s guidance.Students with qualified result can be admitted to the undergraduate degreeprogram.

 

学历生：我校所有本科、博（硕）士专业均对留学生开放。汉语水平达到相应专业学习要求，本科要求汉语水平（HSK）应为四级以上。博（硕）士要求汉语水平（HSK）应为五级以上。博（硕）士研究生一般需要3-5年（博士）、2-4年（硕士）的专业学习和研究期限，修满学分并取得一定的科研成绩，完成学位论文，通过博（硕）士论文答辩，可获毕业证书，符合博（硕）学位授予条件的，可授予博（硕）学位。

DegreeProgram

AllDegree Programs established at XUST are open to International students withadequate Chinese proficiency to meet related program’s requirement,undergraduate program requires HSK level 4  above, postgraduate programrequires HSK level 5 above. Postgraduate Program normally requires three to fiveyears for Ph.D degree and two to four year for Master’s degree of work oncourses and dissertation. Graduation diploma and degree certificate are awardedto the student upon completion of respective academic requirements laid out inthe program curriculum in the prescribed time frame.

 

三、申请办法Application Procedure

1. 登陆西安科技大学国际处网站下载《西安科技大学外国留学生入学申请表》；

1. Log in to the website(http://gjjl.xust.edu.cn/) to download and fill in the XUST Application Formfor International Student

2. 有效普通护照和相关学历证书、护照尺寸照片的扫描件或复印件（电子版），请注意：

2.Provide digital photocopies or scans of valid regular passport, diploma of highest degreeconferred and passport-sized photo, please note that:

a．所有申请材料均须提交一式一份，材料不全者，不予受理；  

a. All application materials should besubmitted one set for each, applicants without complete application materialswill not be processed.

b. 未满18岁时，需提供家长委托书，与无犯罪记录证明需翻译成中文，并在本国公证；  

b. Applicants who are not 18 years oldbefore September 1, 2017, must submit a Letter of Entrustment entrusted byparents and a Letter of Good Conduct. Both of the two paper documents must betranslated into Chinese and legally notarized in your country.

c. 除上述材料外，学校有权要求申请者提供其他必要申请材料。

c. Supplementary application documents maybe required when necessary.

3. 申请人持学校寄发的录取通知书、JW202表、体检表和其他相关材料到所在国家的中国使领馆申请办理学习签证（X签证），然后按规定时间来校报到，并缴纳注册费、学费。

注：对于第一次来西安的新生，我校可负责免费接机、接站，但需至少提前7天通过电子邮件或传真将航班号、火车车次及到达时间通知国际合作与交流处办公室，以便安排迎接。

3. Students admitted to XUST may apply for your visa at theChinese Embassy/Consulate in your country with your letter of admission, JW202form, medical examination and other related materials, then register on campusat scheduled time and pay for registration fee and tuition.    

Notes: International exchange and cooperation office of XUSTwill offer free pickups for newly-enrolled international students, whichrequires a notification of your flight or train number and arrival time atleast 7 days in advance via e-mail or fax.

1. 注册费: 200元人民币 /人（三个月以下）、400元人民币 /人（三个月以上），不予退还。

五、住宿条件Accommodation

生活条件：

学校设有医院、邮件收发室、小型超市、洗染部等服务机构，校园内有ATM机。有中餐、快餐、风味餐和伊斯兰（穆斯林）等不同风味的学生餐厅。当地学生的餐饮消费大约在￥500-900元/月。校内各类体育设施齐全，有篮球、排球、网球、足球等运动场所，体育馆内有羽毛球室、乒乓球室。

Life oncampus:

There arehospital, mail room, grocery store, hair salon, ATM machine and other serviceson campus. Various flavors of food including Chinese food, fast food, Islamic(Muslim) food and others are available in dining hall. The local student's foodconsumption is about 500-900 RMB / month. Sports facilities and athletic fieldsare well-equipped on campus for basketball, volleyball, tennis, football andother sports, and there is a stadium for badminton and table tennis.

 校内住宿： 

留学生宿舍分为单间房，双人间，大部分房间配独立卫生间，24小时热水，房间配空调、电视、书桌、衣柜等。校园内无线网全覆盖，宿舍楼内设有公共厨房，配有电磁炉，微波炉，电烤箱，冰箱等公共用具，配有公共洗衣房，有免费自助洗衣机等设备。

每人在入住前要缴纳住宿押金1000元，经检查房间及物品完好无损，将全额退还。

Accommodationon campus:

There are twotypes of housing facilities (single room and double room) for internationalstudents at XUST. Rooms are equipped with private bathroom, 24 hour hot water,air conditioner, TV, desk, closet, wireless network etc. There are sharedkitchen with ovens, refrigerator and shared laundry room with coin laundrymachines in the building

1,000 RMB asaccommodation deposit should be paid before check in and will be fully refundedafter a checked check out.

六、医疗保险 Medical Insurance

  中国政府要求来华留学生在中国学习期间必须购买保险。留学生可购买由中国平安保险公司提供的医疗保险。不按规定购买医疗保险，学校将不予办理报到注册手续。 

医疗保险费用：800元/人/年（45岁以下）。

According to the regulations issued by the ChineseMinistry of Education, all international students are required to purchase theComprehensive Insurance &Protection scheme for Foreigners Staying in Chinaon the registration day. Students who do not have valid medical insurance willnot be allowed to register.

Medical insurance fee: ￥800 per person per year

七、奖学金政策 Scholarship  Policy

为鼓励各国优秀学生、教师、学者到我校学习或从事科学研究，发展我校与各国的教育交流、合作，我校特设“西安科技大学外国留学生奖学金”，资助外国留学生来我校学习交流。

XUST establishes XUST Scholarship for International Studentsto outstanding students, professors and scholars from all over the world, whoare pursuing their academy study or research at XUST, or are dedicated tostrengthen educational exchange and cooperation between XUST and other foreignuniversities.

 

 

西安科技大学每年分10个月给汉语进修生发放生活资助，700元/月；本科生及硕士、博士研究生按年度评审奖学金，每学年末发放一次。本科生10000元/年 ；硕士研究生15000元/年，博士研究生20000元/年。  

学校为留学生设立勤工助学岗位，学生通过课余时间勤工助学，可获得工作报酬。

奖学金申请具体要求参照“西安科技大学2017年外国留学生奖学金招生简章”。  

XUSTScholarship for International Students will be allocated to holders as theirliving expense subsidy in 10 months: ￥700 per month for holders of International Cultural ExchangeProgram. The Scholarship for International Students will be reviewed once a year,￥10,000 per yearfor Bachelor Degreestudents, ￥15,000 per year for Master Degree Students, ￥20,000 per year for Ph.DDegree Students.

XUST provides part-time jobs for International students as financial aids
