外国文教专家须知(英文)

NOTICE FOR FOREIGN CULTURAL AND EDUCATIONAL

EXPERTS WORKING IN XI’AN UNIVERSITY OF SCIANCE AND TECHNOLOGY

1. The foreign expert/teacher shall provide the following materials to the university when applying for a teaching position:

1). Personal Resume;

2). Degree Certificate(copy);

3). Recommendation letter written by professor of his/her country or from his/her former employer

4). Certificate of Teacher or relevant professional skill certificate;

5) Evidence on marriage status;(The Chinese people is in great respect of family. Cohabitation without marriage is deemed as not in accord with traditional morality and violation of Chinese Marriage Law. Therefore, we hope that the foreign experts respect the custom and habit of Chinese people. According to regulation, finance or fiancée cannot enjoy related expenses and benefits provided by the host institution, as is found out to be in accord with international conventions.)

6) Health Certificate.

2. Within one week after his/her arriving at the university, the foreign expert/teacher should first sign the contract with the university to make clear the responsibilities of the both sides. Once the contract is signed the two parties must carry out the rules and regulations strictly.

3. During his/her stay in China, the foreign expert/teacher shall observe the laws, decrees and relevant regulations enacted by the Chinese government. He/she mustn’t interfere in China’s internal affairs or do anything harmful to China and Chinese people.

4. The foreign expert/teacher may go to the open religious sites in China for religious life as common religious believers, but they are not allowed to preach, recruit new believers and interfere with religion affairs in China.

5. The foreign expert/teacher must abide by all the rules and regulations of the university. He/she can’t go out for traveling or sightseeing during the working time. If he /she plans to go out and leave Xi’an during the holidays, the foreign expert/teacher should inform the International Exchange and Cooperation Center of the University.

6. The foreign expert/teacher shall cooperate with the university and make every effort to complete the tasks agreed on. He/she shall do his/her work following the arrangements and instructions form the related professional departments and by the end of each semester, he/she shall accept certain inspections and evaluations from the university and hand in a formal concluding report to International Exchange and Cooperation Center and the related departments of the university (The Foreign Language Department and the Graduate Department).

7. Without permission of International Exchange and Cooperation Center, the foreign expert/teacher shall not render services elsewhere or hold concurrently any post unrelated to the work agreed on with the university.

8. When anything related to teaching issues, foreign experts or foreign teachers should contact with the appointed foreign-teacher-assistant of the Foreign Language Department and the Graduate Department.

9. Documentaries, video-tapes, and movies, etc for teaching purposes provided by foreign expert /teacher may be shown to the students only after passing examination by officials in charge in the university.

10. When anything related to the administrative issues, foreign expert or foreign teacher should contact with the designated official who is in charge of foreign experts and foreign teachers from International Exchange and Cooperation Center of the university.

11. When anything related to the security issues, foreign expert or foreign teacher should contact with both International Exchange and Cooperation Center and the Security Section of the university.

12. For the safety of the foreign expert/teacher, his/her friends or guests shall not stay overnight .If there are good reasons, he/she should ask the International Exchange and Cooperation Center for the permission in advance. Each guest should pay 50Yuan for each night accordingly. The visiting hours are from 6:00am till 11:00pm.

13. Request for sick leave by the foreign expert shall be proved by the foreign-involved hospital appointed by the university. Where the sick leave amount to less than 30 days in one contract term (one year or one academic year), the foreign expert shall be paid 100% of the salary. In case the leave exceeds 30 days, the university will dissolve the contract. If the contract is not dissolved the salary will be paid by 70% until the normal work is resumed.

14. Private affairs leave of the foreign expert shall acquire the approval of the university. The university may deduct the salary by day. In the contract term(one year or one academic year), the private affairs leave shall not exceed 10 days. The continuous private affairs leave shall be no more than 3 days. Where one day exceeds, salary for two days will be deducted.

15. In case of absence of work without allowance of the university, where absence amounts to one day, payment for 3 days will be deducted. Where the circumstance is serious, the university may criticize them or will have to dissolve the contract and investigate the liability of the foreign expert for violation of the contract.

16. The foreign expert/teacher will enjoy 400 Yuan worth of medical treatment fee for minor complaints each year in the clinic of the university. Expenses to be borne by foreign experts themselves include that of registration, house calls, tooth insertion, cosmetic surgery, eye-glasses, board in hospital and nutrition for non-medical purpose.

17. The university usually appoints certain hospitals for medical treatment for foreign experts/teachers. If the appointed hospital gives the opinion of the need of transfer to another hospital, or the disease needs further treatment in a specialized hospital, the medical expenses thereby incurred may be reimbursed with the approval by the university. If the expert/teacher goes to other hospitals for treatment without consent from the appointed hospital or the university, medical expenses thereby incurred shall as a general rule not be reimbursed.

18. Generally, the university does not provide transportation for foreign experts going to hospital. If it is an emergency, the university shall provide free transportation or reimburse the fare.

19. Foreign expert/teacher will enjoy the paid winter vacations. And be paid RMB 2200 Yuan as traveling fee after he finishes his one academic year’s (two semesters) service for the university.

20. Foreign expert/teacher will enjoy round-trip international air tickets (economy class) after he finishes his/her one academic year’s (two semesters) service for the university. The reimbursement should be done by the original tickets and the formal receipt.

21. Foreign experts\teachers are entitled to the following holidays: New Year’s Day, Christmas (two days), Spring Festival, Labor Day, National Day and other holidays according to laws and regulations, the same as the Chinese employees in the same work place. And foreign experts/teachers can have a one-day holiday if they request to celebrate their own National Day.

22. The foreign experts/teachers should take good care of the utensils or property supplied within the apartment. If any utensils are damaged, they should be paid accordingly.

23. The foreign experts/teachers shall not allowed to raise pets like cats or dogs in their apartment in any case.

外国文教专家来校工作须知

1.外国专家求职应提供一下材料:

1.个人履历;

2.学位证书(复印件);

3.本国教授或原聘单位出具的推荐信;

4.教师证书或有关专业技术证明;

5.婚姻状况证明(中国是一个尊重家庭的民族,未婚同居被认为是不符合传统道德和违犯中国《婚姻法》的,因此,我们希望外国专家尊重中国人民的风俗习惯。按规定,未婚夫、妻不能享受聘用单位提供的有关费用和福利,这样作也是符合国际惯例的);

6. 健康证明

2.外专外教抵达学校后一周内应和学校签署聘用合同以明确双方的责任和义务。合同签署后,双方必须严格执行所规定的条款。

3.在华期间,外专外教应遵守中国政府制定的法律、法规和相关规定。不能干涉中国的内政或做任何对中国和中国人民有害的事。

4.外专外教可以到中国境内开放的宗教场所以普通宗教信仰者的身份过宗教生活,但不允许在华布道传教,不得发展教徒,不得插手我国的宗教事务。

5.外专外教必须遵守学校的规章制度。在工作时间内不允许外出旅行或观光。假期外出离开西安,应通知学校国际交流与合作中心。

6.外专外教应和学校合作尽力完成双方认可的工作。应按照教学单位安排和要求进行工作。每学期末应接受学校的教学检查和教学评估并向校国际交流与合作中心和英语系或研究生部交纳一份正式的教学总结报告。

7.未经国际交流与合作中心的同意,外专外教不得兼任与学校无关的其他劳务。

8.凡与教学有关的事宜可与指定的外籍教师助理联系解决(英语系和研究生部)。

9.外专外教提供教学用的录像带、电影片、凡属有利工作和教学的资料片、风光片、故事片,经学校审查后方可向学生放映。

10.凡与日常外专外教管理有关的事宜应与主管外专外教的人员联系解决。

11.凡与安全有关的事宜可与校保卫处和国际交流与合作中心联系解决。

12.为了保障外专外教的安全,未经许可,来访的朋友或客人不允许留宿过夜。如遇特殊情况,应提前通知国际交流与合作中心。

13.外专外教请病假,须凭学校指定医院医生证明。在一个合同期内(一年或一个学年)累计病假不满30天,仍享受100%的工资。如超过30天,学校有权解除聘用合同,如合同未解除,可享受70%的工资,直至能够恢复正常工作为止。

14.外专外教请事假须经学校的同意,学校将按日扣发工资。在合同期(一年或一学年)内,事假累计不得超过10天,连续事假不得超过3天,超过一天,将扣发2天的工资。

15.未经学校同意而擅离职守的,旷职1天,扣发3天工资。情节严重的,学校有权解聘合同,并追究外专外教的违约责任。

16. 外专外教每年可享受学校提供的校内医疗费400元以解决一般的小病。挂号、出诊、治疗用车、镶牙、整容、配眼睛、按摩、住院伙食和服用非医疗性的滋补药品等费用由外专外教自理。

17.学校通常为外专外教指定医院就诊。如指定医院认为需要转院,或外专外教所患疾病需去专科医院治疗,经学校同意,去非指定医院治疗的医药费可按规定报销。如外专外教本人未经指定医院或学校同意,自行到其他医院就诊,其医药费一般不予报销。

18.学校一般不提供外专外教看病用车。如外专外教患急病,重病需要送医院抢救的,学校免费提供车辆或报销车费。

19.外专外教在华工作一年以上(两个学期)可享受带薪寒假及旅游费2200元。

20.外专外教在华工作一年以上,其国际往返机票由学校予以报销,原机票及发票进行报销。

21.外专外教享受下列节日休息:元旦、圣诞节(2天)、春节、国际劳动节、国庆节及国家法律规定的其他节日,按学校职工的假期放假。

22.外专外教应爱护公寓内的设备和用具,如有损坏应予以赔偿。

23. 外专外教不能在其公寓养宠物(猫或狗)。
